Keys are never logged. If host secure storage is unavailable, the plugin falls back to local plugin storage and warns you.
When on, FormatFlow refuses to send text to DeepL, OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini — your content never leaves this machine. For confidential or regulated work. Requires a local Ollama model.
The subscription covers the plugin. AI usage is billed separately by your own provider (BYOK).

Leave off for cleaner translations — can duplicate fragments when InDesign splits a sentence across style ranges.
Instant text translation — uses the provider, model, key, industry, and glossary from your main settings.
Checks the active document before you translate: text volume, fonts, locked layers, overset frames, and an estimated AI cost for your selected languages.

Exports a file per document. Pick a format below — each one shows its own options.

Fixes text that overflows its frames in the active document, least invasive first. Works on any document — translated or not.
Tracking is in thousandths of an em (InDesign units). These limits also apply to the automatic fit that runs after each translation.
Ready.
For each selected target language, the plugin:
1. Creates a clean copy of the open document in the output folder.
2. Opens that copied .indd file.
3. Translates inside the copy only.
4. Verifies every text block, then saves the copy.
5. Reopens the saved file and verifies it again from disk.
The open original document is never translated or modified.
Tick as many target languages as you need — each gets its own output file, e.g. MyDoc - French.indd, MyDoc - Spanish.indd.
First run? Try one language on a short document with the Mock/offline provider, then check overset warnings, glyph/font support (CJK, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi), and skipped locked items in the report before running the full batch.
Load a CSV with two or three columns: source, target, note. Matching terms are enforced during translation.
Version 3.1.0 — restored overset fixer and full themed UI, with GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra, and Luna. Bring your own key (DeepL Document API, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or local Ollama).
Workflow: export to IDML → translate the XML → verify every block → build a fresh .indd per language. The original document is never edited.
